Institute full name:

SLOVENSKA TECHNICKA UNIVERZITA V BRATISLAVE

Institute acronym:

STUBA

Institute profile:

The Department of Land and Water Resources Management (DLRWM) aims at providing the scientific knowledge required for the effective management of water and land resources and the environment, particularly in relation to the conservation and protection of man's natural heritage and its sustainable use. The DLWRM has been involved for many years in basic and applied research projects granted by national and international research agencies. Participation in four EU FP projects included research in the areas of mathematical models for runoff and flash flood forecasting, estimation of land-use and climate change impacts on the hydrological regime and regional analysis of flash flood regimes. National grant research also focuses on problems catchment management, restoration of rivers, aquatic ecosystems and wetlands, estimation of pedotransfer functions, regional flood and drought frequency analysis, erosion and flood control, estimation of land-use and climate change impacts on runoff.
