Institute full name:

National Research and Development Institute for Soil Science, Agro-chemistry and Environment Bucharest

Institute acronym:

ICPA

Institute profile:

ICPA is the leading Romanian Centre for research into soil survey, and soil protection science. The mission of ICPA is to promote basic, strategic and applied research, survey and long-term monitoring in soil and agro-chemistry fields. This mission implies high quality contribution in developing knowledge on soils and the environment. At the same time, trained scientists and engineers are involved in providing services, thereby contributing to the economic competitiveness of Romania, and to upgrading the quality of life. ICPA coordinates the nation-wide network of 37 local County Soil Testing Laboratories. RISSA is very active in promoting and participating to EU research projects under the specific framework: INCOCopernicus, COST, bilateral cooperation, FP5, FP6.
