Department of Agroecology (AU-DAE) is part of the Faculty of Science and Technology and has a strong background in research in soil conservation and soil quality, nutrient and water management, crop physiology and cropping systems, and models and decision support systems at the farm level. AU-DAE contributes significantly to support in policymaking based on the research performed. The research group ‘Soil Physics and Hydro-pedology’ (SPH) embraces basic soil science as well as applied research in management effects on soil properties. The group includes nine senior researchers and 10+ PhD students. The SPH group has been heading several international research projects, among these the ‘POSEIDON’ project focusing long-term compaction effects on soil functions (www.poseidon-nordic.dk) and the ‘PredICTor’ project building the Terranimo© decision support tool on soil compaction (www.soilcompaction.eu).
